If someone handed you $1,000,000 tomorrow, you would…
Buy a huge estate somewhere in the middle of nowhere, ideally
Montana or Wyoming, go off the grid and live peacefully with
some livestock and my dog George.

If you could live in any other time period, which would you choose?
I would like to be taken back to when humans were first starting to
evolve and travel across the world say 100,000 years ago. I would
love to discover the world for the first time and live off the land and
use primal instincts to survive.

Could you tell us 3 random things we don’t know about you?
I love Sex and the City, Pizza Pizza and my cat’s name is Penelope.

Favorite Ballet?
I love a lot of Hofesh Shechter’s stuff.

You were born in San Francisco, California. What are your favourite dishes and customs from home?
San Francisco is the best city on earth. Mexican food in SF is the bomb.Ethan Watts, Corps de Ballet

Good Will Hunting.

Have you ever had an embarrassing moment performance-wise?
When I was an Apprentice with The National Ballet of Canada, I once forgot to come onstage for the first 20 seconds.

What’s the last thing that brought tears to your eyes?
A documentary about Michael Vick’s tortured fighting dogs and how
so many people have bad impressions of pit bulls.

Ballet often seems to attract a very exclusive audience. Do you think that’s changing? What do you think its appeal could be to those who haven’t seen one yet?
I do think it’s challenging that it’s seen as an elite art form, an exalted
profession when it’s really not. It’s portraying real life every day
stories.

What is your favorite memory of being onstage?
I really enjoyed all of my YOU dance performances, it’s fun dancing with your best friends.Ethan Watts, Corps de BalletWas there a pivotal moment that sold you on being a ballet dancer over doing anything else?
I fell in love with dancing when I was in 9th grade, that being said I am open to exploring my other passions such as my passion for medicine. I’d love to be an EMT someday.

What is your philosophy towards your work?
Go in, work hard and know your stuff.

What’s your definition of a successful ballet dancer?
Success is whatever you want it to be.

Do you ever feel as magical as you look when you dance, or is it mainly just hard work and focus up there?
A lot of focus for sure.

What is your fashion style outside of work?

Whatever I grab off the top of my laundry pile. Ethan Watts, Corps de Ballet
If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you have and why?
My dog, my espresso machine and some charcuterie.

What’s your guilty pleasure song that’ll make you rock out no matter where you are?
Not really a guilty pleasure, but I love Fergie.

What was the last thing you changed your mind about?
Probably my opinion of someone.

Do you have a celebrity crush?
Jennifer Anniston.

Are there any costumes that you’ve either danced in or seen that strike you as amazing or memorable?
The costumes in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland were genius.
Ethan Watts, Corps de BalletWhen are you most proud of yourself?

When I’m out with my dog in some beautiful park just walking and breathing in the natural world.

What charitable causes are you most passionate about?
I’m just passionate about the world becoming a better place, more money in the right places and less power in the wrong hands.

Travel the world on a sailboat with my cat and dog.
