If you could live in any other time period, which would you choose?
I would be in my early 20’s living in the 1970’s. So groovy!
Which movie could you watch on repeat?
Love Actually.
What would you have done as a career if ballet hadn’t come your way?
Law.
What is your philosophy towards your work?
I’m grateful everyday to be able to do what I love. We have the best job in the world; we get to work and improve ourselves every single day. Staying positive, brave, ambitious, focused and strong is half the battle. The rest is hard and honest work. What’s your guilty pleasure song that’ll make you rock out no matter where you are?
Oh, there’s a few! But I truly can’t help myself when I hear “Sweet Child of Mine” by GNR or “The Best” by Tina Turner. Do you have a celebrity crush?
I have a thing for rock stars, Robert Plant and Eddie Vedder take the lead. What cheers you up on an off day?
Kindness and cat videos. What do you worry about?
I try not to worry. But I often think how the power of love is overruled by the love of power, and that scares me.
Dream role?
Carmen.Words of advice for young dancers?
Work hard every day and never ever give up. Just take one step at the time and keep believing in yourself. Surround yourself with those who inspire and challenge you, those who bring you up; observe and listen to them. Always be kind, and remember no matter what happens you can still enjoy your life and be happy.
Do you have a favourite quotation?
Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as you ever can.
-John Wesley
When do you feel at your best?
When I’m fully present. No distractions. No ego. Just an open heart and a calm mind. Beautiful things happen then.
What is the best advice you’ve been given?
“Do one thing at the time. Take your time, and give it your all”
- My dad
