If you could live in any other time period, which would you choose?
Sometime in the future… but I don’t know how far forward I’d want to go.
When you have a day off, what’s your favourite way to spend it?
Reading, watching movies and enjoying good weather.
Which movie could you watch on repeat?
I watched The Lion King practically non-stop as a kid. What’s the worst thing about being a dancer and the best?
I think the worst is how physically, mentally and emotionally exhausting it can be… and the best thing is having a job I’m so passionate about.
Ballet seems to attract a very exclusive audience. Do you think that’s changing? What do you think its appeal could be to those who haven’t seen one yet?
While most people might not be born with a love of ballet, I think anyone can connect with it and enjoy it. There’s something really unique about the language of ballet, it can really emotionally move an audience.
Favorite ballet?
Christopher Wheeldon’s Within the Golden Hour.
Dream role?
Onegin or Romeo.
Words of advice for young dancers?
Be patient and don’t get discouraged. Do you have a favorite quotation?
“Nobody ever figures out what life is all about and it doesn’t matter. Explore the world. Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough. Work as hard and as much as you want to on the things you like to do the best. Don’t think about what you want to be, but what you want to do.” – Richard FeynmanWhat are the top items on your bucket list?
Travel! I’d love to take a month long cross-Canada road trip.
If someone handed you $1,000,000 tomorrow, you would….
