Born: New York City
Trained: Studio Maestro in New York and Canada’s National Ballet School
What would you have done as a career if ballet hadn’t come your way?
I probably would have gone into fashion. I enjoy how creative you can be putting together an outfit and accessories. I would love to own my own store one day.
What is your philosophy towards your work?
My philosophy is to be 100% reliable and have a strong work ethic. Not only do I want to be professional for myself, but also to set an example for the younger people in the company. Things like taking class every day, knowing my material and improving on something every day.
If someone handed you $1,000,000 tomorrow, you would…
I would pay off my mortgage and my parents mortgage, go on a nice vacation and give some to an organization that helps others.
Milk chocolate or dark?
Favorite colour and least favorite colour?
My favorite color is purple and my least favorite might be yellow. What’s your definition of a successful ballet dancer?
Setting a goal for yourself and accomplishing it. Whether it’s to do more turns, jump higher or to execute a role well. If you feel like you are doing the best you possibly can then you are successful, you are doing what you love to do and are giving it your all.
What cheers you up on an off day?
Laughing with my friends, talking to family and watching a good movie or TV show with a butter tart! Are there any costumes that you’ve either danced in or seen that strike you as amazing or memorable?
The black swan costumes in James Kudelka’s Swan Lake are the most amazing tutus. They hug you just right and you feel so powerful in them. Every woman on stage loves being in that costume.
I can never get enough of The Four Seasons choreographed by James Kudelka. It’s my favorite to dance and also to watch. At the end of the ballet, it brings a tear to my eye every time I see it.What is your fashion style outside of work?
I’m into playing with different patterns and styles. I need to be comfortable, but put together. I love wearing wedges or medium heels on a daily basis – they dress up a t-shirt and jeans.
What’s your guilty pleasure song that’ll make you rock out no matter where you are?
Anything by Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Beyonce or Rihanna!
Could you tell us 3 random things we don’t know about you?
